Volunteer Administrators

We are pleased to offer the following volunteer roles, which are open to women only under the Genuine Occupational Requirement (GOR), Schedule 9 (Work; Exceptions), Part 1 (Occupational Requirements) of the Equality Act (2010).

The roles will be based in our offices in Redhill.

Volunteer Administrators

 We are looking to recruit volunteer administrators to help us with:

  • telephone cover (we are looking for a commitment between 2.30 and 4pm Tuesday to Friday)
  • 9am – 4pm (preferably) Monday
  • 10am – 2.30pm Tuesday or Thursday to suit volunteer.

Please indicate your preferred option in your application.

Main tasks

  1. Answering telephone and directing calls to appropriate member of staff.   Signposting and/or referring callers, where necessary, to appropriate support and information after your initial training
  2. Accurately entering data for new clients on to the ESDAS Case Management System (Oasis) following a referral.
  3. Completing Satisfaction telephone surveys with clients who have ended their support with ESDAS outreach
  4. Closing cases on the Case Management System with advice from Outreach Workers
  5. Ad hoc support for the following:  Children’s’ Service; training programmes for clients and event organisation.

More about ESDAS

"ESDAS was established in 1993 and began delivering services in East Surrey in 1998. Our purpose has always been the relief of hardship, need and distress of those who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse including any associated children. We are proud to have developed one of the first community (non-refuge based) Outreach services in the country which to this day operates on a needs-led survivor focused basis and continues to be a model of replication and best practice both locally and nationally. Our Outreach Services provide advice, advocacy, information and support on a range of issues including criminal and civil law, benefits, debt, housing, safeguarding, risk and safety planning as well as empowering survivors to take control of their own futures. We aim to provide holistic services to avoid survivors and their children being re-traumatised by repeating their experiences to multiple professionals. Our associated services include Independent Domestic Violence Advisors (IDVA) at Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC) and Surrey's Specialist Domestic Abuse Court (SDAC). Our holistic programme of group work included an informal Drop-In Support Group, the Freedom Programme and Recovery Toolkit as well as Self-Esteem and Parenting Workshops. Our Counselling service is tailored to meet the needs of survivors who feel unable to access talking therapies through usual means through fear, long waiting lists or lack of funds. Our Volunteering Project is aimed at harnessing the skills and experiences of survivors of domestic abuse to help others recover from abuse and reintegrate into their local community. Our services for children and young people include 1 to 1 work, group work, Play Therapy and expert consultancy to professionals in particular Children's Social Care. In 2005 we were awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service in the Community which is the highest award granted to voluntary organisations. More recently ESDAS as the Lead Provider of four local Domestic abuse charities in Surrey was chosen as one of three national pilot areas for the Women's Aids Change that Lasts project. Change that Lasts aims to transform responses to DA, ensure that survivors and children are provided with the right help at the earliest opportunity and have access to specialist Domestic abuse services like ours. Our proudest achievement however is ensuring that survivors of Domestic abuse and their children remain central to the services we offer and that they have a voice locally so their experiences inform future services."
