Outreach Worker

Hours: 35
Salary: £24,541 – £27,268 for 25 hours a week
Planned start date: August/September

South West Surrey Domestic Abuse Service (SWSDAS) is looking for an Outreach Worker* to support survivors of domestic abuse across Waverley and Guildford Boroughs. You will have experience of helping those who have been affected by abuse or other trauma, and will use your brilliant communication and listening skills to provide emotional and practical help to our adult clients.

You will use your compassion and professionalism to deliver a service that ensures survivor safety and enables them to be empowered, improve the quality of their lives and develop and grow in self-esteem and confidence.  The role includes providing risk assessment, advice, advocacy, safeguarding and liaison with other professionals for example Police, Social Services and Local Authorities.

SWSDAS is Women’s Aid National Quality Standard Accredited and a member of the Surrey Domestic Abuse Partnership which provides support, advice and advocacy throughout Surrey. We are a proud member of the Employer’s Domestic Abuse Covenant.

You need to be organised and flexible in your approach with a calm and reassuring manner.

You will be working 35 hours a week as part of our team of over 20 staff based on the edge of Guildford. You must have a driving licence and have access to a vehicle as some travel across the region, including in rural areas, will be required. This role includes giving 1:1 support and attending meetings in person within the Guildford/Waverley area. The role is for a fixed period of 2 years with the possibility of extension subject to funding.
